My topic is about: Gang Violence

This issue interests me because:

Gang violence interests me because there is a lot of gang violence going on now days. there is not one day when you can actually turn on the television and change it into a news channel without watching something about gangs and violence. I am really into this topic and I have really creative ideas for my game.

I want people to learn:

I will really like to teach people how gangs are affecting the citizens of the United States. There are innocent people who are getting affected because of this so called gangsters that are only causing us trouble. I would like to make them learn the actual statistics of the gangs and where they are located. I would also like to teach them some of the cases where people do not have to do anything about this tragic cases but they still end up being hurt in some kind of way.

This issue need to be addressed because:

Gang violence really need to be addressed because there is people dyeing every single day. there are gang member who had a future ahead of them. Its really sad to see this people end up like this when they are so smart. I also think it should be addressed because its not worth ed for them to live their gang member lives which the most could last ten years and that is if you dint get beat up until dead, intoxicated with drugs, or just getting shot, or in prison. its not worth it at all.

WHO are you designing your game for? I am designing this game for teenagers In age between 13-17. This game is specially going to be designed for players who like the puzzle and maze genre and to people who will be interested into games that will teach you about gang violence and how it is affecting the residents of the United States.

WHAT will your game teach the player about your topic?

My game will teach the player the statistics of the people who are involved in the USA of the different types of races. It will also be included statistics about the high gang violence cities of the united states!

WHERE does your game happen?

My game will have the background of different places of the united states depending on the place that the topic is about. The background will help the player feel like if that person was really in that place and it will give them the potential to start playing the game as son as possible.

In this game the player will learn about this world how gang violence is affecting the different cities and citizens of the United States. The players will use what they've learn to answer questions while they are trying to go through the game.

WHY is a game a better way of understanding your topic than a quiz?

It would be way better because when you are just reading things off of a paper most of the time it will stay in your mind then it will go away, but when playing a game the concept of the learning experience and the information will stay in your mind because you are actually having fun and in order to pass the levels you have to answer questions about the facts tat you've read.

Civics: National Politics

I think that this video is weird and wrong in so many different ways. To start of i think that this video should of been made by the actual person who is running for president. This person is trying to help him but instead he made a bad impression of him. It is so weird that he always had the close up on his face and he said that he would, make the united states united, no one can just make everything okay out of no where. Another thing that I think that is super weird is that almost at the end of the video he just started to smoke a cigarette, I mean what kind of weirdo will do this in a video trying to protect a president! last but not least the main thing that caught my attention was when the actual person that is running for president comes out at the end of the video and he looks directly into the camera with a creepy look then he does this mysterious smile.

''March of the penguins!''

1.) Some of the challenges that the penguins have to overcome are staying away from predators, keeping their babies warm for them to be able to survive, looking for food and mating.

2.) Their habitat challenges their livelihood everyday because they need to keep their eggs warm enough so that they would not become practically pieces of ice and also because they can not find much food because of their environment which makes a lot of penguins die of starvation.

3.) The penguins have to adapt to the lac of food and also walking almost all of their lives. This makes them be able to survive from predators and brutal winters.

4.) There is a time where there is no sunlight because of the tilt of the earth and because its revolving around the sun so there are gonna be times where there are sometimes going to be days without sunlight. It affects the climate because it causes the penguins to not be warm no more.

5.) It is really important that the ground be frozen because if its not then the penguins are not being able to reproduce. Witch could create extinction to them. It is specially important because they have this ritual that the emperor penguins gets to choose who he wants to mate with and in order to mate they cant be on water they need to be in ice.

The game that I liked the best was 2 B-cubed because I love when I have to move things around with the arrow keys and also because I have to think before I take a move its kind of like chess.

In this game you have to move the cube through this different mazes in order to get to the next level. you also have to really think about what move you are going to make because once you have stepped on one it goes away.

What did you learn from your choice of games and genres to review?

I learned a lot with this review. Some of the things that I learned was that there are some certain game genres that do not have an specific social issue involved in their games. I also learned that there are some genres that would be good to make a game on including an social issue and that they are not that many games on that genre.

I saw that some of the games that where in this game gallery were actually pretty poor in graphics and i think that could have been better. I also really liked some of the features of the games like for example i really like that in one of the game the background was moving as you were going through the game, it was awesome!

Action games are the most common ones in the whole game business. in this genre you have to always keep moving and have to do certain activities at the time.

The game that thought me about a an existing social issue was oil spill because it just happened not even a year ago and numerous animals got affected by this issue but it was not solved as fast as they thought it was going to be fixed.

Game I liked best:
I liked the game save the animals the best Because i really like how they made the background move while you are moving with it also. I also like how they made the main character move his legs while he was walking making it seam like if it was really walking. I love the graphics and I like the concept of making people realize that they need to do something to try to save the animals that got infected or in danger because of the oil spill.

What happens in the game:
In this game you are thought some of the animals who really got affected by the oil spill. Also the player gets to feel like if they are making a change by playing and by acknowledging the facts in this game.

How do you play it:
In order to play this game you have to do do certain actions. You have to use the arrow keys in the keyboard in order to make the main character move and to save the animals.

Mini Game

Was is hard to make your Mini Game? What was the best part of this topic? The worst part?

I can easily say that my mini game was a little bit hard to make because i wanted mine to have the best graphics that i could make. fortunately i did made that happen. other than that i can tell that the code and the rest of the making was really easy.

The best part of making the game was messing around with the new flash. I love experimenting with something that i don't know much of like the new flash. It was way easier to do the small details that i like to do in this new flash than the other old one.

The worst part about making this mini Game was that i forgot to put the name of my files on my projects page. That was the only thin that i wasn't satisfied with while doing this project.

I was three years old.

When did you first learn about the attacks and who explained the events to you?
my six grade history teacher explained to us what was the 9/11 and what had happened.

What kind of impact did these attacks have on your life or your parents lives?

This impacts have a lot of impact in my life. It makes me feel insecure feeling that something bad is going to happen or that we are going to be attacked again. I just cant imagine me trying to survive leaving everything behind. I think that all I would do if i was there I would be running all the time just trying to survive.

What was the issue with this game?
That it was saying that there is no way to stop terrorism. And the person who made the game is just trying to get money out of something very tragic.

I actually feel very bad because it teaching children bad things and its making them get the wrong idea behind it.

What is the problem with portraying on such an awful violent event through a video game?

The making of this game is very violent because its showing the youth that the violence can not be stop at all.

How can you make sure that your web games tell the whole story or teach a lesson in an honorable way?

By actually putting information about the event and by doing the right actions for people to not feel bad or anything.

"Danger Of A Single Story"

1)What does it mean to have a 'single story' about a place or community?

Is to have an idea about a place where you have never gone to and you make assumptions about it, usually never good thoughts.

What is missing from that story? How could people learn more about that community?

2)Describe a single story you have heard told about your community.

I have heard people saying that in my community every person is s thug and that they have no future. They do not know that a lot of people where I live at they actually go to school and they do have bright futures. I think that they really need to go to my community and actually hang out with people so that they can see what is really going on.

3)Describe a single story you have heard about another community. How did you learn that story? How could you find out more about that community?

I found out about the single story of the east side of Austin. I have always lived on the North side of Austin so when I heard that the east side is a really bad side to study at because of all the drop outs and the gangs and drugs I was really scared because I had to study in this certain area. Once I went to the school and really spent time in this side of Austin I realized that it was not like how people describe it. Yes it does have drugs and gangs but its not everywhere.

4)How could a game let players experience many stories about a place or community?

It can tell them by making the game with information about the certain topic that they have in order for them to learn more. I could also have images or pictures about the topic.

CYBERBULLY

1) How does the main character feel about using "clicksters" in the beginning of the film?
she thinks is not something that she would use specially because her mom is always watching her back.

she has a lot of rules and her mom is a single parent. her and her brother do not get along very well. her mother is super protective and she is angry at the time with her father.

Really good ones.they actually care about her but then they start to have a little problem.

When a girl and Lynsey starts saying bad things about her on her clicksters page.

she gets called names and gets bullied at all times. they post tings about her that are not true.

She is really sad and mad that people would actually post things about her. she also got to a point that she was going to commit suicide.

Some of the reasons that people cyberbully other is to make them feel good or to feel the feeling of making someone else feel something that they have. They feel jealousy for you and they want to feel powerful then anyone.

What is it about?
My game is all about saving the two endangered species that are mentions which are the white tiger and the white shark. with the main character which is a robot you are going to be able to make points each time that you try to save the animal. in this game you are gong to have a time keeper so don't be surprised if you run out of time.

I have completed all of my scenes but two of the levels still need some animation.

I Think that I need to really get concentrated into finishing up and have patience.

I have learned to put almost every code in flash perfectly without struggle.

What are you proud of in Globaloria?
I am really proud that I'm way more advance that many other schools here in Austin and all over the united stated. I am also proud that we have some of the best technology overall.

How can you improve next year?
I think that it will make it better if next year we start our games sense the beginning.

I have to say that this page is very educational and intersting in many ways. this page teches the kids in games what are some of the cause that the people become an american citezen. It also teaches how just a vote of a person counts and how it important to vote. It teaches about civics because it is talking about the things that people talk in court. I really liked tat it has games that are educational and that teach at the same time.

NINTENDO 3DS:

I am so excited about this new game console. I Think that this new idea of this game is something really creative and original not only because of its camera, or his motion sensor or nothing like that but because its all incorporated with all kinds of new technology. This game cost $249.99 in most of the stores but of course that if you buy it online wit could be really cheap. The Nintendo 3DSis a portable gaming system able to run more realistic graphics than any of the DS consoles that went before it. The 3DS is backwards compatible and can play DS game cartridges as well as newer 3DS ones. The consoles itself is about the same size as the DS Lite. It’s heavier than the DS Lite and the DSi, but not heavier than the original DS. The 3DS’s top screen, where the 3D effects are displayed, is bigger than the DSi’s, but not bigger than the DSi XL’s. However, the bottom touch screen is larger than either of the DS Lite’s two screens. Like the DSi, it has a front 2D camera.

DISASTER IN JAPAN:

I know that a lot of people have died in this tremendous earthquake and for this reason I will really like to do something in order to save them. I have a really good idea in order to be saving some people that are in need by having a fun raiser. Last year our school saved about 1000 dollars for the people in Haiti and i think that if someone speaks out their mind to do something about it we can make a chance. I will really like to be able to give some money to the people that really need it i mean in here with 20 dollars you will just buy a pair of jeans when in japan you could be eating for 2 days.

PSP NGP:

I think that the new version of the psp is something really cool because it is realy technological starting with its touch scree. I really like the psp because of all of the advantages that it had and because how it has been changing over the years. I really like how you can use the back of it to be able to play just as if you where useing the fron screen. I like how this new psp is in three different colors which are gray black and white. I will really like to buy a psp but I bet that they are really expensive.

Mad Hot Ballroom

What teamwork means to me is when a group of people really working together to get ideas from each other and also to get help from others.
In this movie the students work together in various ways like for example when they dance they are working together, also when they are depending on each other.
This idea can really give opportunities because if they are really good at dancing it could become their profession when they grow up.

Working in a team it helps student to forget the problems that they have going on at home or school.

in technology class we have to work together in a lot of ways like for example when we are trying to come up with the exact ideas that are going to be in our mini game. we also have to work together when we do not know how to something and we have to do it together in order to find out how it really works.

This documentary takes place in New York City in 1994 because there was a dance program that was introduced to 5th graders. In public school #150 the teachers where forcing the male students to tuck in their shirts and for all of the students got forced to dance. The students where not use to be dancing but because they will do it too much they got use to it. There is going to to be a competition where the students of this school district are going to compete at so they are really excited and they work really hard. The team finds their way out to make it to the champions and they actually win the 1st place trophy.

I played a game named math lines. I really liked this game vbecause you have to be thinking really fast in order for you to be able to hit the ball that yo need to hit. I think that the challenges of this game is that if you do not think fast enough the balls are going to get all close together that you are not going to be able to move no more. I really like this game because it makes me get nervous a lot because if i do not hit the right ball everything is going to be wrong. Something that i learned about this game is that if you make something that puts pressure on the player it makes the player get more exited. We played a game called ''super chick sisters''. I really think that this game was really educational and fun at the same time because it was giving facts about how KFC treat the chickens. I think that it was really cool because it was kind of like Mario Brothers but it was with chickens. I Will really like to make a game like this because it is very fun and also because it is educational. This game's social issue is animal cruelty
I Also played another game called J.Lo Fur. I really think that this game is really telling the people not to buy fur because they are killing a lot of animals. i also think that this game is really fun because while they are being mean to Jeniffer Lopez they are also teaching us about how the animals are being affected and they even named some of the animals. I really like the idea of the character going around the place trying to save the animals. This game's social issues is animal cruelty.

Crayon Physics

I have actually never heard of crayon physics but now that I have seen the video I really think that is something awesome! I will love to try to play this tipe of game sometime in my life. I will actually like to make a game like this because the polayer will have to making the game for their selfs well like thay will have to make their way threw the place. I think that the people that make games like this put a lot of effort into it because the only thing that they have to do is to really focus in the obstacles.

Google Science Fair:

I really think that is really interesting that google has created a science fair because there is a lot of science fairs that are going on out there and just because they are in another place we can not attend but because this science fair will be taking place in the Internet anyone in the world could assist and compete in it. I can really see my self entering this contest because I am really into making experiments and also because I just really like entering contests. I know that if I enter the contest I will be competing with people all over the world and that I would be able to share ideas with them, I know that this competition is going to be really hard because I can never imagine what the other competitor are going to do. If I take this project I will really focus on aether life science or robotics because I have always liked science and robotics mix together and by saying that I mean that every time that I will go to a place and there will be robots I will always imagine how it will be if I make a robot with science in it.
